Kylie’s Golden Birthday is coming up in about a month so I’ve been thinking of different ideas that I can use for her special card. I absolutely love making tags and I thought that the new Numbered Days stamp sets would be the perfect size to use!

And here is a quick and easy card I made using the tag as the focal point. I used some gorgeous brown seam binding from RibbonCarousel.com to ‘tie’ it all together. Get it?? Tie?? Nevermind……

Goodbyes, Hellos and PJ Crop Project

It is the first of March, which means that it is time for us to say goodbye to our Jr. Trendsetters that are leaving us, and hello to the new ladies that will try to fill their shoes. Leaving us this month are the SUPER talented, Jenny Peterson, Lynn Put, Jackie Rockwell, and Melissa Hubert. It has been SUCH a joy working with all of them, and we hate to see them go! Thanks for all that you have done for There She Goes, and we wish you well in the future!! Please, DON'T be strangers!!

We were lucky enough to convince Debby Hughes and Theresa Winslow to stay on for another term!! YAAAAAY!! Also, somehow, someway, we managed to sweet talk the AMAZINGLY talented, and AWESOME Kim Teasdale, to come back!! Kim, it's about time you came home!! Now, without further ado, here are the girls coming to join us for their first time:

Our first new member is none other than the inspiration behind our new Ba Donkey Donk set, Kim O'Connell!! If you don't already know her, you SHOULD!! She has MAD skills, and is one of the funniest, sweetest people!! I can't wait to see what she does during her term, and I bet you can't either!!

Our next new member is Copic Coloring Goddess, Wendy Ramlakhan!! She is MEGA talented, and SUPER excited to be joining us for the next term. From her coloring skills, to her perfect embellishing, I think we are ALL in for a real treat!!

Next up is none other than our Laurel Seabrook!! From Scrapbook layouts to amazing cards, she is the PERFECT addition to our happy little family! A self-professed "non-colorer", I am curious and excited to see what's to come from her in the future!!

And last, but CERTAINLY not least, our super loyal, super talented, SUPER sweet fan, Candace Pierce!! Candace has been a regular in our challenges, and has found herself in the Trendsetting Spotlight SEVERAL times....it was only a matter of time before she ended up RIGHT where she should be!! Her enthusiasm and love for There She Goes stamps makes her the PERFECT addition to our team, and I am SURE you will LOVE her, too!!

I would also like to give a shout out to our super fan, and Facebook Promoter, Crafty Math Chick(Merideth)!! She has been taking care of the TSG Facebook page, and doing a BANG UP job with it!! Thanks girl, you rock!!! That's enough excitement for us for now....now, go spread the love to them!!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with three of our newest Trendsetters Kim, Laurel and Wendy a couple of weeks ago when they were here for the PJ Crop. We had so much fun together that I just knew that they would be a great addition to our TSG family

While everyone was at my house I had them each create a journal page about the crop so that I could put them all together in an album. I swear you would have thought that I was asking them to pull their own teeth out by the way they complained lol!! All of the ladies there finished one and from what I could tell, pretty much everyone enjoyed their final product when they were done. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to work on mine while everyone was here so I’m happy that I finally had a chance to work on it and finish it up.

You will notice that the info on my page is blurred out. That’s because ‘What happens at the crop, stays at the crop!'” lol!!

I used a combination of different stuff from my stash to create this page but here are some things I wanted to point out-

*The gorgeous crochet flower was made for me by my sweet friend Pickle… uh.. I mean Danielle Lounds. She gave me some well over a year ago and I’ve been hoarding them this entire time.

*I used the brand new stamp set that was just released Ba Donkey Donk as well as the stamp set World’s Best (see the ‘brackets’ around favorite quotes?)

*The buttons, twine and ribbon are from RibbonCarousel.com of course

Ba Donkey Donk surprise!

Hi everyone!! It's another release week here at TSG but we have a special surprise this month :)This past weekend I had the pleasure of having a dozen of some of the most talented stampers (from all over the US and Canada) come hang out at my house. Not only did I get to witness some gorgeous work being made but I can't remember the last time I laughed SO hard!! We were up till 3:30 AM every night crafting and giggling away! While I have known most of these ladies (both in 'real life' and online) for years, it was great to finally have all of us under one roof. I totally couldn't have pulled all of this off without my amazing husband! Not only did Matt let me invite all of these crazies but he busted his butt to help me get things ready AND he woke up at the crack of dawn to take one of the ladies back to the airport! He fit in just fine with everyone and judging by this picture, they kinda liked him too ;)

It was an amazing weekend and I am so happy to have met these life long friends from all walks of life. I totally can't wait for next year's get together and I'm so thankful that my Canadian girls will be able to come before the start of summer to give me my stamper friend mix :)

I had my image colored for this card way before I even know what I wanted the card to look like but I'm happy with the way that it came together! Of course I used my very favorite twine that I got from Ribbon Carousel. You guys are probably going to get pretty sick of seeing this stuff because I have a really hard time making a card that doesn't have it on it lol!!

This stamp set is great because not only is there this adorable nursebot stamp that I used but there are a few other different images that are so cute too!!

I went CAS with my card sample and I really like how it turned out!The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils.

TSG139- Back To Nature / Snow Day!

This week the Trendsetters have a super fun and easy challenge which is to create a card that includes both a character and nature. Check out all of the details about this challenge as well as find out how you can win a TSG gift certificate simply by playing along right here on the TSG Blog!

For my card I used one of the TSG (again!) stamp sets that are being featured this week- Puppy Love! I also used the sun from the stamp set Day or Night and grass from Blossom by Blossom. Don't you love how well that these images go together??

All images were stamped onto white card stock, colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS and sewed along the edges.

And I also wanted to share some pictures of our snow day yesterday :) We went from having hardly any snow on the ground at 1 am to around 16 in at 7:30 am! Unfortunately it started sprinkling soon after so the snow isn't going to be sticking around for long :(

Warmest Wishes

Here is another Christmas card that I created using the stamp/die set Warmest Wishes. I'm not sure what it is about this card, but I just love it!

Supplies:
Stamps- Warmest Wishes
Ink- Momento tuxedo black, Crumbcake, Early Espresso
Paper- Crumb cake, cream, Early Espresso
Accessories- Dimensionals, Tree die from Warmest Wishes stamp set, SU markers, SU scallop border punch, 1/8" circle punch, sponge

Recipe:
*I created the card base from kraft card stock, rounded bottom colors, and sponged the sides in same colored ink.

*The pattern paper was created by stamping the sentiment in alternating colors before being sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink. It was then adhered to the Early Espresso layer (which had been punched across the top using an SU scallop border punch) and then adhered to the card base.

*The circle images were stamped onto cream cardstock and colored with a red marker before being punched out with a 1/8" circle punch and adhered to the card base using dimensionals.

*Use tree die from the Warmest Wishes stamp set to cut a tree shape. Stamp tree onto separate piece of cream cardstock, color with marker, cut out and adhere to tree die cut. Adhere to card base.

*Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso ink.

Holly Jolly

I have some Christmas cards that I created but never got the chance to actually post them and share them with you so over the next few days, I will be sharing those with you :)

This card was created with the stamp set / die combo Holly Jolly. I stamped the solid house image across the bottom of the card base in black ink and added Glossy Accents to the windows. I then cut out the white cardstock using the die in the set, stamped the images then colored with Prismacolor pencils. The die cut shape was then adhered to the card base using dimensionals.

Out Of This World

It's so hard to believe but this past week, my adorable godsons turned a year old! Since I don't have any boys of my own, I am so thankful that my BFF had two of them for me :) It has been so amazing watching my two little guys grow and I can't wait to see how they change in this next year! Below is a picture of Blakey-poo and Troy-boy. Now that they are mobile, it is getting increasingly more difficult to get a picture of them together lol!

I was browsing through all of my TSG stamp sets trying to decide which stamp set I wanted to use for the boys' cards. As soon as I came across Out Of This World, I knew that it was going to be the perfect set :)

All images are from the Out Of This World stamp set, stamped onto white cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black. The images were then colored using Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS, cut out, layered using dimensionals and adhered to the card base.

When getting ready to make my sample, I simply could not decide on which image from the stamp set I wanted to use so I used them all :) My scene measures 6"x8" so as you can see, the images are good size and perfect for coloring!! And of course these images work perfectly with a bunch of other TSG stamp sets like Wonderful Winter Wishes, Blossom By Blossom, Cattitude and Pumpkins On The Vine just to name a few ;)

Can you believe that it is almost Christmas already?! I have been so busy these last couple of weeks that I'm am having a really hard time getting in the holiday spirit. Tomorrow is Kylie's appointment at Children's Hospital and Wednesday is Kayla's birthday but I'm hoping that I will get to do some baking with the girls on Thursday. And heck, maybe we can even fit in a Christmas movie or two :)

This week's TSG challenge is perfect for those of you that are still working on wrapping those gifts! The challenge is to create a last minute gift tag! For my gift tag I opted to use one of our TSG(Again) stamp sets that are being featured this week by the DT called Loads Of Fun. This set is so much fun to use and I love that I have an excuse to break it out and ink it up!

I have another challenge card to share with you guys today :) Want to know a really cool tip about the new Warmest Wishes stamp set?? You can use a 1/8" circle punch to punch out the little circle shaped images in the set! So not only can you use the dies that come with this set to cut out the large images but you can also punch out the little images to use as embellishments!! Good stuff right?!

I can't believe that Monday is here already! I wish that there were more hours in the day because I am just NOT ready for Christmas. Would you believe that I still have not done ANY shopping for the girls yet?? Yikes! Since this is their last week in school before break, I'd better get going on that ;)

This week for the TSG challenge we have a fabulous color combo with a twist of making your card winter themed. When I first saw the colors, I went into a bit of a panic but after leafing through some of my DP packs I felt a little relief when I came across some cute Cosmo Cricket paper.

Supplies-
Stamps: Holly Jolly
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Momento Toffee
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, DP by Cosmo Cricket (I think!)
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Dimensionals, Sponge, Circle punches, White gel pen, Sewing Machine, Prismacolor Pencils, OMS, Adhesive pearls, Rhinestones, Ivory Jute Twine from Ribbon Carousel (only $1.75 for 25 yards!!!!)

Recipe-
*Create card base from Vanilla cardstock.
*Cut large background DP layer, sponge edges with toffee ink, sew, mat with Espresso cardstock and adhere to card base
*Cut smaller rectangle dp layer, sponge edges, sew, mat in vanilla and espresso cardstock. Adhere to card base.
*Cut bottom dp layer and round bottom corners. Sponge edges, sew and mat with vanilla and espresso card stock. Wrap in Ivory Jute twine and adhere to the card base using dimensionals.
*Use Holly Jolly die to cut shape. Sponge with toffee ink and stamp background design.
*Using a 1 3/8" circle punch, punch a circle from Early Espresso card stock and adhere to die cut shape.
*Punch another circle from Vanilla cardstock using a 1" punch, sponge with toffee ink and stamp snowman image. Color, blend and adhere to die cut shape.
*Adhere die cut shape to card base using dimensionals. Adhere rhinestones where desired, use gel pen to add 'stitches' to the espresso circle.
*Punch out another circle in vanilla cardstock using 1" punch. Sponge with toffee ink, stamp sentiment and adhere to a 1 3/8" espresso card stock. Use white gel pen to add dots. Adhere to card base using dimensionals.

Hi everyone!I hope that all of your weekends are off to a great (and relaxing!) start. I made some time to play along in this week's beautiful TSG inspiration challenge but haven't had the chance to blog them until now :) Now that the stamp set No Peeking! is back in stock, I couldn't wait to ink it up again! This set of 5 cards was super easy to make!!

Supplies:
Stamps- No Peeking!
Paper- Some shimmery dark and light purple cardstock that I found in my stash
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: White Net Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel, Rhinestone squares by Recollections, Marvy scallop square punch, Prismacolor pencils, OMS,Stardust Gelly Roll Pen, corner rounder

Recipe:
*Create card from dark purple cardstock and round top corners. Adhere net ribbon across diagnally.
*Punch out scallop square from light purple cardstock and stamp square image from No Peeking stamp set.
*Stamp desired image onto a separate piece of cardstock, color, cut out and adhere to scallop square with dimentionals. Adhere to card base. Add stardust to image where needed.

TSG132- Inspiration Challenge

All new release orders have been packed and shipped AND I have made 11 Christmas cards. All of these things were completed in a 48 hour period (while doing all of the regular mommy stuff too of course)! I gotta say, right now I'm a mix of complete brain dead-ness and inspiration. I think the brain dead thing is winning out thought ;)

This release was by far one of the best ones yet all thanks to you- the amazing friends of TSG! We were completely sold out of all of the new release items soon after they went live on the website despite the technical issues we were dealing with that were causing the website to run sooooooo slow. Thanks for putting up with it everyone and I hope that you were able to get the items you wanted! For those of you who may have missed out, I am expecting another shipment of all of the holiday stamp sets within a week so make sure you keep an eye on the TSG website :)

Before I head off to bed, I wanted to share this set of cards that I made for this week's TSG Inspiration Challenge.

I looooove how quick and easy these came together and see that circle of rhinestones? Not only do I have a set of 5 quick and easy cards to share with you today but I am going to be continuing on with the challenge all week long by creating a set of 5 cards for each of the FIVE new stamp sets that are to be released on Saturday!!

For my first set of cards, I was completely inspired by this card that creator Michele shared with me last week. I absolutely LOVE her simple design and as soon as I saw it, I couldn't wait to ink up my stamps from the Holiday Tags set and get started!! I kept the design pretty much the same but changed the colors and stamps.

* Tie twine around the top of the card with a bow

Small Advent Box tutorial and print outs!

Yay for the weekend! I have a super busy day ahead but wanted to pop in and post this project that I have been working on for about a month!

Last week on the TSG blog I posted a tutorial and directions on how to make an advent calandar out of foam board. Today is another one of those tutorials but for a different size :)I made each of my girls an advent calendar and each one was completely different from the next. I still have to put together the directions for the last one but am hoping to get that done this week before Thanksgiving :)

I decorated the advent boxes so that there are numbers on one side and pictures on the other. The calandars start out with all of the number facing out. Then each day when the child takes out the contents of the box (I will share what I put in them with the next tutorial!) the turn the box around so that the picture is now showing.

Today's card is an easy one I made using one of the TSG (again!) stamp sets- Birdie Wishes. This is one of my all time favorite silhouette stamp sets! Not only can it be used for holiday cards but it is also great for birthday cards too!

Supplies:
Stamps- Birdie Wishes
Ink- Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade
Paper- Sahara Sand
Accessories- Diamond Glaze, Early Espresso marker, Chunky clear glitter, White gel pen

Recipe:
* Create card base from Sahara Sand card stock
* Stamp branches across card using Early Espresso ink. Then use a SU Early Espresso marker to connect the branches so that they smooth together as one.
* Stamp other images, use white gel pen to color in parts of the images.
* Add Diamond Glaze to the top of branches and ornaments and then sprinkle chunky glitter

Stick Together

Two posts in one week and it isn't even release week, can you believe it??? lol! Today I have a card to share with you that features one of the TSG (again!) stamp sets- Stick Together. I love all of the pretty snowflakes that are included in this mini set! Add a bit of detail with a white gel pen and some glitter and you have a quick and gorgeous holiday card!!

Supplies:
Stamps- Stick Together
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Marina Mist
Paper: Sahara Sand
Accessories: White gel pen, Diamond Glaze, Chunky Clear Glitter

Recipe:
* Create card base from Sahara Sand Cardstock
* Stamp 'flurry' image across card base in black ink.
* Stamp snowflake images in Marina Mist ink. Fill in images with white gel pen.
* Use Diamond Glaze on the parts of the images that you want glitter on. Apply glitter.
* Stamp sentiment in lower corner

Hi everyone, long time no blog huh?? My life has been insanely busy this last month but things are finally starting to calm down a bit so that I can get back into crafty mode :) Heck, maybe I'll even get to blog more than once every two weeks lol!

For the first time in a long time, I finally have been able to play along in the TSG challenge!! This week's challenge is a recipe challenge and the ingredients to use are at least one of the following- Snowflake, bird, ribbon/button. I was surprised by how easy I was able to create a CAS style card while still incorporating all of these things.

I used one of my favorite winter stamp sets Penguin Love and for my little penguin's scarf, I made little slits on each side of the scarf and fed through some ribbon. I used some red line tape to keep it down. This ribbon is my favorite right now! It is super thin and comes in a variety of colors from Ribbon Carousel. Love it!!

Also, I think one of my favorite new things is super chunky clear glitter! It is PERFECT for snow. I have had mine for ages and am just now starting to use it. See???? That's the reason why we crafters hoard our supplies, we know that we will use them SOME day lol!!

Recipe-
Stamps: Penguin Love
Paper: Sahara Sand, White
Ink: Sahara Sand, Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Sahara Sand Marker, Diamond Glaze, Chunky Glitter, Dimensionals, Ribbon from Ribbon Carousel, SU markers, white gel pen, red line tape

* Make card base from Sahara Sand cardstock
* Stamp Igloo in same color ink, use marker to draw a line for ground and shade igloo. Stamp snowflakes.
* Color in the snow on the igloo and ground with white gel pen
* Use Diamond Glaze to adhere chunky glitter to snowflakes, snow on igloo and snow on ground.
* Stamp penguin onto white cardstock, color with SU markers, make a slit on each sides of the scarf and feed the ribbon through. Adhere with red line tape.
* Cut out penguin and adhere to card base with dimensionals.

Happy Birthday Chloe!

Last Friday our little Clobo (aka Chloe) had her golden birthday and turned 7 years old. This girl is an absolute joy to be around! She has an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh that make anyone smile. She is quick to stand up for what she believes in and always has her sisters' backs (even if they happen to be bickering at the time lol).

We haven't had a chance to do her birthday photo shoot yet but here is a picture I snapped of her at school Friday morning. She insisted the night before that I put her hair up in curlers so that she could have curly hair for her birthday :)

And since it was her golden birthday (turning 7 on the 7th) I made her birthday card in shades of yellow with lots of glitter and sparkle. She had wanted a card with a disco ball but since I don't have one in my collection, this shiny sun had to take it's place lol. I also added seven flowers to the bottom.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Back again today with a fun card that I made using the newly released Follow Your Bliss stamp set. I love all the different scenes that you can create from just this one stamp set!

Stamps: Follow Your Bliss
Paper: Kraft, White
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Sponge, acetate cloud template, nestabilities, dimensionals, looped edge grosgrain ribbon from Ribbon Carousel, brads, scallop corner punch, Prismacolor pencils, OMS

Recipe:
*Create card base from kraft cardstock, scallop edge the top corners, create clouds using template, sponge and crumb cake ink.
*Use nestabilites shape to create a die cut from both white and kraft cardstock. Trim edge of kraft card stock so it is slightly smaller than the white. Adhere together and stamp sentiment.
*Add brads to the nestie layer, adhere ribbon tab to the back and adhere to card base using dimensionals.*Stamp larger bunny image onto white cardstock, color, cut out and adhere to nestie layer.
*stamp fence scene onto white cardstock, color, blend, cut out and adhere to card base.

Here's a bright and colorful card I created using the newly released stamp set World's Best-

Stamps: World's Best
Paper: Black, white, marina mist, poppy parade, peach parfait, pear pizzazz
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, marina mist, poppy parade, peach parfait, pear pizzazz
Accessories: Circle punches, dimensionals, stardust gellyroll pen, rhinestones, edge distresser, scallop corner punch

Recipe:
*create card base from black card stock, scallop punch corners.
*stamp stitched circle four times on white card stock in black ink. Stamp large silhouette stars in color, smallest silhouette star in black. Stamp sentiment in black on one of the color stars. Punch each circle out using 1 in. punch. Mat with colored card stock that was punched out with a 1 1/8 in. circle punch.
*Cut strip of white card stock, stamp ribbon image in black. Distress edges and adhere to card base.
*adhere the color star circles to the white layer. Adhere the sentiment circle to white layer using dimensional.
*add stardust gellyroll pen and rhinestones.

I punched a hole on the top of each of my little banners with a Crop-o-dile and used some Divine Twine from Ribbon Carousel to tie them together. Today is one of my favorite TSG Blog Hop Challenge days EVER!! Not only because we are showing off a fabulous new Halloween stamp set illustrated by Torico but we are also debuting the first of There She Goes' exclusive dies!!! That's right! TSG will now be selling dies to use along with your favorite stamp sets :)

This fun silhouette Halloween themed stamp set is so much fun to play with! Not only can you create fabulous cards and projects with it by itself but it was also designed to coordinate perfectly with last year's Hauntingly Delightful* stamp set!! The first die to be added to the TSG product line was created to be used along with the new Bugs & Hisses stamp set but it can be used for soooooo much more! I used it on the top of my sneak peek project so you can see what it looks like :)

I don't know why but lately I have been really wanting to make a bookmark. Could it possibly be because I was becoming a bit tired of using some random scrap of paper that I happen to find while I was reading? Yeah, that probably had something to do with it ;)

When Corinna was came down for a visit awhile ago, we went to the Michael's in my town where I picked up this super cute set of paper mache coffins. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with them at the time but when I decided that I was going to make bookmarks for today's project, I knew that this coffin would be the perfect container for them!

It took awhile to complete this project since all of the different pieces of designer paper were inked, stitched and distressed before being adhered to the sides of the box. (And instead of painting the box before hand, I just took a black Sharpie marker and colored around all of the edges before I adhered the paper)

I also decorated the tissue paper I put inside the box by distressing it first with an ink pad and then stamping the bats and spiders in different sizes in black ink.

Here is a close up of the actual bookmarks, These give you an idea of just a few different scenes that can be created using this stamp set. Imagine if you were to pair it up with Hauntingly Delightful*! And aren't those ribbon toppers perfect? It is actually this cool new Halloween ribbon that Ribbon Carousel is carrying!

Follow Your Bliss / BOL Holiday Additions sneak peeks

Welcome to day one of our TSG sneak peeks!! I am so excited about this month's release and I can't wait to show off the goods :D

Di has created another gorgeous addition to her wildly popular Build a Scene stamp sets. With stone and ivy walls, gorgeous little puppies and kitties, and uplifting, heart-felt sentiments, this stamp set is fabulous alone or paired with any of the other Designs by Di stamp sets.

Follow Your Bliss is a 4x6 sized stamp set that includes 19 images and will sell for $15

Some people stamp because they are card makers and some people stamp because they are stampers. I put myself into the second category. I have such a hard time (most of the time) when I need to make a card and I find myself really struggling to put something together that I'm really happy with. However, when I'm just playing around with my stamps creating different scenes, I find that I enjoy what I'm creating much more! I created this scene using a few of Di's older sets to show you how well the compliment the new set she has illustrated- Follow Your Bliss.

All of the images used on this projects were stamps except for the tree trunk which I drew using a Copic Multiliner. See the leaves on the tree? They are from the Pumpkins On The Vine set that Torico illustrated last month! Other sets that I used were Once Upon A Time, Beautiful Day and The Fairy Best.

All images were stamped using Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils before being blended with OMS.

This next set came to be when Corinna and I were hanging out at my kitchen table on her birthday brainstorming new things and bouncing ideas off each other. I was so excited about that idea that I emailed Torico right away! I absolutely love all of the images that she illustrated for this set and I know that you will too.

Hi everyone! Sorry for being such a bad blogger, I actually have been stamping regularly lately but I just haven't had the time to blog my creations! This week has been a pretty busy week for our TSG lady! We have done lots of fun things like shopping, exploring the great outdoors, midnight snacking and then Friday morning I was surprised with a party that she and a few of our other TSG friends put on to celebrate our birthday!! Imagine my shock when I walked into my office and found this-

TSGBDAY4- In The Spotlight

All week long we are celebrating TSG's 3rd birthday with a new challenge every day. Each new challenge has a prize of a $10 gift card so make sure you stop in to the TSG Blog each day for your chance to win!!

It is time for another fun TSG birthday challenge! So far this week we have made paper dolls, snapped a shot of our dolls while out on the town, taken a picture of them in the great outdoors and today the challenge is all about 'In The Spotlight'.

So here's what happened.....

My new TSG friend and I had a great time exploring the great outdoors with my girls the other day but boy were we beat by the end of the day! That evening we did nothing but lounge around and relax our poor tired muscles and even went to bed a bit earlier than usual. In the middle of the night I was woken up by this strange rustling sound. After hearing it continue a few moments, I woke Matt up and told him to go investigate (you know, cause I'm too wimpy to do it myself lol). We have never had mice in our house and I was praying hard that we weren't about to start now! So Matt grabbed his favorite mini flashlight that keeps on his nightstand (I wish I was kidding about this part....) and headed to find where the noise was coming from. After a couple of minutes I heard Matt in the kitchen say 'What in the heck are you doing in here??'

This is what he found-

Apparently our little friend had a case of the munchies after a long afternoon spent climbing trees and decided she needed a snack! I should have warned her to stay away from Matt's chocolate, he gets a little protective over it ;)

TSGBDAY3- The Great Outdoors

Are you guys ready for our 3rd day of fabulously fun TSG birthday challenges?? On Monday we were to create a paper doll and yesterday we were to take our new friend out on the town and snap a picture. Today we are going to do some exploring in the great outdoors!

Every well rounded woman should be able to get a little dirty just as well as she can shop and our TSG lady can do just that! Yesterday the girls and I took our new friend shopping and today we went exploring in our backyard where she showed us just how well she can tree climb! Of course she had a safety rope, we didn't want any accidents happening ;)

First TSG Birthday Challenge: Make a paper doll!

The challenge for today is to create a paper doll using any TSG stamp set that you own. Christine did a fabulous tutorial on this awhile back right here on the TSG Blog just in case you need some ideas. I had sooo many ideas floating around in my head to use for paper dolls but in the end I decided to go with our classy lady from She's A Lady which just happens to be TSG's trademark.

The image was stamped onto sturdy white cardstock in Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS and cut out before adding a stand to the bottom. Is it just me or does she look like she's ready to take over the world??? lol!

Today I wanted to share a card I made for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge(which is sponsored by me this week :) and the challenge is to use at least two spool items on your card/project. I used two of my favorite spool items- Vintage Seam Binding and Divine Twine.

It has been quite awhile since I've paper pieced an image and I decided that it would work perfectly for this image from the newly released stamp set Pumpkins On The Vine.

TSG122-One layer with pop / Newest Trendsetters!

Have you guys seen the new Trendsetter announcement on the TSG Blog??? That's right, today begins another term of Trendsetting and we have got some great talent joining us for your inspirational pleasure :D

I have been up to my eyeballs in work but I managed to get some stamping in this weekend thank goodness because I really wanted to participate in this week's TSG challenge as well as the Ribbon Carousel challenge.

The card I have to share today was made for the TSG122-One Layer With Pop challenge. The challenge is to create a one layer card that has all or part of an image popped up on dimensionals. I used the newly released stamp set Fabulous. The popped up flowers were stamped onto DP, cut out and adhered to the card base using dimensionals. I then added some sparkle to the flowers with a Stardust Gelly Roll pend before gluing rhinestones to the flower centers.

One year with JDM

This past Saturday marked the one year anniversary of Kylie's Juvenile Dermatomyosits diagnosis. It is so weird but looking back, it's hard for me to even remember a time without it in our lives. We went from having perfectly healthy children (we even went 2 years without a checkup just because there was no need to take them in to the doctor's office) to having our oldest daughter diagnosed with a rare (3 in a million) auto immune disease that would pretty much control our lives on a daily basis. There is currently no cure for JDM.

JM (Juvenile Myositis) causes a variety of debilitating symptoms including:

• Muscle weakness and pain

• Severe fatigue

• Rashes

• Swallowing and digestive difficulties

• Lung and heart problems

• Vasculitic ulcers

• Calcinosis

I feel so extremely blessed that we live close enough to Seattle Children's Hospital where Kylie can get the absolute best care from doctors who have experience working with other children with this same disease. Thankfully Kylie's body has been doing a great job trying to get back to 'normal' but we are still faced with new problems continuously throughout this journey.

Since being diagnosed with JDM on August 27, 2010 Kylie has-

*Swallowed over 1200 pills

*Sat through at least 49 hours worth of infusions

*had multiple xrays including ankles and chest (3 or 4 times)

*CT scan

*2 pulmonary functions tests

*Had an EKG

*Spent over 40 hours in doctors offices

*Around 50 at home injections of Methotrexate (a mild form of chemo)

*Developed cataracts as a side effect from one of her medications

*Been on different forms of antibiotics 3-4 times in as many months

*Has had around 15 blood draws

*Has been put on an inhaler for what doctors think may be a form of asthma

*Has been having a steady cough for over 4 months

*Now has a case of retracting pneumonia that we can't find the cause of

*Has to be completely covered up from the sun with hats, sunblock and special UV protected clothes because the UV light from the sun can cause her disease to flare up.

*Has been on at least 10 different medications

*Has had to deal with the extreme physical & emotional changes that the steroids (that her body desperately needs to stay healthy) have caused

*Spent over 40 hours in the car going to and from doctors appointments

And yet she still smiles and hasn't

let it effect who she is as a person.

Pretty amazing huh? She has grown up so much in this last year and dealt with more things than any 7-8 year old should but we are so proud of her! Our only hope is that her body can continue to get stronger so that we can hopefully eradicate the JDM from her body cause JDM SUCKS!!

Unfortunately this summer has been a bit rough on Kylie's health. She has had a yucky cough (that goes back and forth from being a 'wet' cough to a dry 'barky' cough) for over four months now. We have done numerous tests and xrays but the cause is still eluding us. The results from her recent CAT scan showed signs of 'retracting pneumonia' but we can't figure out what is causing it which means we can't prevent it either. We would appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts you can send this way so that we can get this thing figured out!!

All year long we have been saving all of Kylie's medicine containers so that we could add up the amount of pills she has taken over the course of this treatment. Kylie decided that to celebrate her one year JDM anniversary, she wanted to shoot those pill bottles and show JDM who's the boss :) What can I say, she's her father's daughter through and through lol! Not only did she get to use her own .22 rifle but with daddy's help, got to shoot some of the bigger guns as well. *Please note that Matt was right there by her at all times and all safety precautions we taken.*

Pumpkins On The Vine is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 15 stamps and will sell for $15.

I absolutely love this new set illustrated by Torico and I can guarantee that you are going to love creating with it! All of my images were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with OMS, cut out and adhered to the card base using dimensionals. Well, except the leaves. They were stamped directly onto the card layer and then colored :)

Fabulous Sneak Peek!

Today is our second day of sneak peeks and boy do we have a Fabulous stamp set to show off- literally lol!

I have to tell you how much I love the simplicity of this fabulous stamp set! Not only can you use it to create beautiful backgrounds but the larger images are perfect for being the focal point of your projects as well. There is a combination of both line art and solid images to suit your coloring mood ;)

Fabulous is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 13 stamps and will sell for $15.

I created a set of three quick, easy and beautiful note cards that can be whipped up in no time! I added a little bit of sparkle with a Stardust pen as well as some rhinestones to give the cards some extra depth and texture.

The first new stamp set we are showing is called Beautiful Day and was illustrated by Di Carubia. I love that this set was created with the intention of being able to be used with the other stamp sets that Di illustrated for TSG including- The Fairy Best and Once Upon A Time!!

Beautiful Day is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 10 stamps and will sell for $15.

I actually used 8 of the 10 stamp sets included in this set for my sneak peek card. I love how you can create a multitude of different 'main images' simply by combining the images included in this set in different ways! And how much do you love the stone wall?? That is a background image that can be stamped over and over to create a wall that looks like it is just one piece!

There was a bit of masking involved to create my window scene but it was so easy that anyone can do it! All images were stamped with Momento tuxedo black ink, colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. The sentiment was stamped onto thin white card stock, trimmed, gently folded into a ribbon shape and sponged before being adhered to the card base.

TSG120- Color Challenge

Happy Monday everyone! This week's TSG has a gorgeous color challenge that is brought to us by our featured Trendsetter Tobi. She was inspired by makeup and chose the colors baby pink, coral and black (brownie points for throwing gold in there, which I forgot to do). I gotta say, these colors look amazing together!

For my card today, I chose to use one of my favorite TSG silhouette sets Birdie Wishes. It's an older set but I absolutely love how it can not only be used for birthday cards but also everyday occasions and Christmas too!

I added lots of texture to this card by stitching the DP panels, adhering ribbon that was wrapped in embroidery thread, buttons, rhinestones, diamond glaze and of course a little sparkle from a stardust gelly roll pen :)

RCC15: Get Edgy!

For my card, I chose to use the super sweet HG Classy digital image which you can get right here. I printed off a few extra images just as well just in case I happened to make a mistake and as soon as my girls saw them they begged to color one and make a card too. Who am I to crush their young card making dreams?? ;)

I chose to use the mini set Vroom for today's card because that cute little car is so much fun to color! There is something about this card that doesn't quite mesh but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think that maybe I should have used white to mat the pink layer instead of black? What do you think??

Hi everyone, welcome to another week of inky fun! It's time again for a fun Ribbon Carousel challenge and this week it's an easy one- anything goes :)

Every once in a while it's fun to play with images from other companies and now that the Ribbon Carousel challenges are being sponsored by various companies, I get the chance to do that more often! I had a lot of fun playing with the stickers I received from EAD Designs and here is one of the cards I made.

The set of stickerz I worked with is called The Seed Of Hope and I absolutely love the images and sentiments included! It's been soooo long since I have worked with any stickers so I tried to use them in place of stamps. The great thing about these is that you can color them with Copics! I created the ribbon flower from some gorgeous satin ribbon and using a button for the center. I then pleated the satin/grossgrain ribbion on one side of the card before wrapping around the entire layer. Check out the Ribbon Carousel website to pick out some fabulous ribbon to add to your collection :)
